Latest in the news is the tech giant Telstra who has issued a statement of providing refund of a total $25 Million to around 50,000 customers. As the federal government report stated, the refund is due to the slower NBN speed provided to its customers than promised by the company.
The AMCA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) reported that the company did not follow the rules of notifying the customers about how the internet speed was not fulfilled by the company.
The users using Telstra services in between September 2018 to October 2020 were affected due to the under-performing internet speed.
In this type of scenario, the customers can opt for two options without any cost: switch the current plan with a plan to a lower speed with lower pricing or exit the contract sealed with the company without any additional bearings, both options that were earlier denied by the company. It’s up to the customers to choose and proceed with.
How will you get your refund from Telstra?
Telstra will advise you with the amount of refund if you are one of those 50,000 customers receiving slower NBN speed than promised.
